The Walk

The old man walks and walks alone.
Wrinkled face.
Staring amazed.
He has seen the unseen.

Standing,
To show you how to stand.
Smiling,
To show you how to smile.
Believing,
To show you what belief is.
Loving,
To show you that love exists.

The old man walks and walks slow.
Recounts the blessings of life.
Stooping man he is now.
But not weak, no, he never has been.

Holds the memories.
Thinks of the deeds.
Sits at an altar.
Recalls his agnostic being.

The old man walks and walks again.
This time standing straight.
Not marred by anything.
He feels relieved.

Missions to excel.
Wondering!!
Which side of life,
It has to be.

The old man is having a siesta now...
The time he wakes up
He will walk again.
